Starfish Family Services is a social service agency that works to strengthen families and create brighter futures for children, offering many free services to over 3,000 children and their families. With 21 serving board members, they wanted to increase efficiency and digitize the process of creating and sharing agendas and documents for board and committee meetings.

Their challenges included:

  • Without a centralized platform for board business, Starfish found it difficult to efficiently prepare for board meetings and coordinate meeting logistics.
  • Board books, sometimes up to 300 pages, had to be compiled by hand, manually printed and collated before inserting them into binders.

  • Reporting back to federally funded programs which have strict compliance obligations was time-consuming and onerous.
