Brian Alexander

Brian is the Chief Financial Officer for BoardEffect responsible for the Finance, Accounting and internal Operations of the company. Brian joined BoardEffect in early 2014. Prior to joining BoardEffect, Brian spent 11+ years at Blackboard where he most recently served as the Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis. During his time at Blackboard, Brian helped it grow from an early stage company to a large global public company, and then played a key role in its successful sale to Providence Equity Partners to take the company private.  Prior to joining Blackboard, Brian spent 11+ years at MCI Telecommunications (acquired by Verizon) in various Finance and Accounting roles observing how technological advancements can transform an industry.

Brian graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (VA Tech) and lives in Vienna, Virginia with his wife and two children. He enjoys coaching his children’s sports teams including soccer, baseball, and basketball.  Brian and family enjoy traveling, especially their annual trip to the beach with family and friends – and savor the chance they had to travel to China and South Africa as a family.
