"Streamlining your Credit Union's Board Meetings," with Dan Clark and Dottie Schindlinger

To be successful, a credit union's membership and staff need the board to be forward-looking and forward-thinking. This session provided tips and tools you can use to transform your board meetings to be less time-wasting and more focused.

We covered:

  • Ways credit unions can utilize technology to efficiently prepare for, schedule, and conduct board meetings
  • How improving the board's delegation of specific roles to management frees up board meeting time
  • How to help the board focus its knowledge/information system on essentials
  • Ways that e-governance provides all the information needed, and not in one large, bulky, intimidating ream of material before a meeting

You'll leave this session with concrete strategies you can use to help streamline board communications, and make your meetings more efficient and effective.

In the 1980s he volunteered as a credit union board member and founded his consulting practice. He followed that with two decades as a credit union President/CEO. During that period he helped create what is now a very successful Big Brothers/Big Sisters organization serving as its first board chair. In 2006 Dan went full-time again as a consultant, facilitator, speaker and coach.
