Thomas Rottler, Chief Executive Officer
As the CEO of BoardEffect, Inc., Thomas manages and leads a team of E-governance experts as they spread awareness of this new concept that is revolutionizing the way boards of directors do their work.
Thomas started his professional career at JBA International/GEAC in Germany, where he assembled and managed work teams across a number of disciplines and enhanced business processes for mid-sized manufacturing companies. In 1995, he moved to Philadelphia and joined Verve Internet Solutions as the Managing Director, overseeing all Internet projects and ensuring the successful and timely completion of projects that varied in size and complexity. In 1998, while still assuming that responsibility, he also embraced and excelled in his role as the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer, successfully managing financial growth, scaling continued operations, and directing professional services using his talent in enterprise-wide problem solving and management.
Beginning in 2004, Thomas was instrumental in the development and launch of BoardEffect®. Using his understanding of the nonprofit sector and his background in information technology, Thomas was able to create a product that is being used today by thousands of individuals from organizations and companies across the United States and beyond. In late 2009, Thomas' became Chief Executive Officer of the newly incorporated BoardEffect, Inc.
Thomas holds degrees in Banking from the Business School Tuttlingen, Computer Science from the University of Applied Sciences (FH), Furtwangen, Germany, and a Certificate in Production and Inventory Management from APICS.
Leanne Bergey, Chief Strategy Officer
Leanne Bergey is a national expert on emerging trends in online technology for mission-based organizations. An entrepreneur and lifelong educator, she led the research and development process for BoardEffect®, a secure online portal and information management system for boards of directors.
She founded Verve Internet Solutions in 1996, an Internet solutions company that served nonprofits in the Greater Philadelphia region, leveraging her background in marketing, strategic planning, and technology to transform business processes in the nonprofit sector. Based on her success in growing Verve and establishing BoardEffect, Leanne received the prestigious "Forty Under Forty" award from the Philadelphia Business Journal, recognizing her accomplishments as a successful leader and entrepreneur. Leanne earned her Bachelor's degree at Dickinson College.
Dottie Schindlinger, Vice President of E-governance
Dottie Schindlinger is a renowned expert on the impact of E-governance on the nonprofit sector. She has worked in nonprofit capacity-building for over 15 years, first developing programs for the Pennsylvania Humanities Council and later certificate programs for The Nonprofit Center at La Salle University.
She joined Verve Internet Solutions in 2005 to help nonprofits meet their missions more effectively through online technology. During her tenure, Dottie was instrumental in developing BoardEffect®, a secure online portal and information management system for boards of directors. She is a frequent presenter -- nationally and internationally -- and writer on e-governance in the nonprofit sector. She received her Bachelor's degree from the University of Pennsylvania, and holds certificates in Nonprofit Management and Board Leadership from The Nonprofit Center at La Salle University's School of Business.
